McAfee EPO & Anti-Virus Health Check

Objective

This is a consulting services package for the customer who owns and has deployed all or part of McAfee EPO and their Desktop security solutions. Your security consultant will perform a comprehensive review of your anti-virus, end node protection strategy, deployment practices and administrative practices for updating and maintaining the McAfee desktop security products in your enterprise. Computer based threats have evolved to where they exploit new end node operating systems and leverage previously undiscovered methods of infecting existing infrastructure to compromise your companies computing ability.

It is an important practice to evaluate your existing desktop security strategy. Regular reviews of your company’s end node security policies and enforcement strategy are mandatory exercises that ensure your company is protected against the latest threats and maximize your systems availability.

This engagement will consist of inspecting your current day practices, network environment, AV coverage, updating practices, reporting practices, reporting interpretation and report review abilities. This engagement will get you an expert’s review on how well your IT defense systems are setup and performing.

At the end of this engagement you will receive the results from the analysis that was performed. You will be provided a report of your coverage, frequency of updating, policy change recommendations, additional applicable protection methodologies and procedural recommendations for your computing environment. You should end up with a solid understanding of where your company is vulnerable with respect to the Enterprise End Node Security Deployment and what steps need to be taken to best protect your network from malicious code.

Tasks Performed

Consultants will conduct an initial meeting with all relevant client personnel in order to:

  • Define specific client goals
  • Identify appropriate contacts within your company
  • Develop strategy for the engagement
  • Review the customer network environment

Discovery and Analysis

  • Identification of possible points of virus entry, infection, storage and transmission within the network environment
  • Anti-Virus strategy and deployment
  • Specific anti-virus software components and versions installed on each platform (including clients, file servers, email servers and gateway servers)
  • Anti-virus product configuration settings for each platform
  • Methods used for distributing, updating and upgrading product software to various platforms
  • Distribution points for DAT virus signature file updates and locations of DAT file update folders
  • Frequency of updating DAT virus signature files
  • Distribution points for product upgrades and locations of software product folders. This includes distribution hierarchies and mechanisms for automating the distribution of software upgrades
  • Frequency of and procedures for upgrading product software
  • Alerting mechanisms for each platform and centralized enterprise reporting needs
  • Existing methodologies for initial deployment of anti-virus products within the customer’s network
  • Existing Emergency Response procedures in the event of a virus outbreak

Reports Include

  • Overall assessment of anti-virus protection
  • Recommendations for improvement

To Be Completed Prior to Start of Session

The client is responsible for providing the following:

  • Access to the relevant client personnel
  • Network design documentation
  • Access to phone, internet connection, and workspace
  • Physical access to all necessary areas of the company network
  • Any anti-virus history documentation

Scheduling

Additional tasks and fees considered outside the scope of work for these services, any delay and/or wait-time on this project due to client readiness or 3rd party products and vendors, will be defined, documented and mutually agreed upon in writing by P2 Solutions, LLC, Reseller partner and client prior to beginning any new activities. Such documentation of the task(s) to be performed will then become an amendment to this agreement. This package assumes work will be conducted during normal business hours. Once this engagement has been agreed to in writing, a P2 Solutions Consulting Services scheduling representative will contact the client to arrange a convenient time. If Client wishes to cancel the services, or change the agreed schedule, all relevant change fees and penalties for previously arranged travel reservations shall be due and immediately invoiced to the client by The P2 Solutions reseller partner. These fees are in addition to any fees due for rescheduled Services. Any significant delays due to client schedule or conditions may result in additional charges

Terms and Conditions

To the extent that P2 Solutions provides consulting services to Customer under the Services defined herein, the following terms shall be applicable to such Services.

(a) P2 Solutions, LLC shall provide the deliverables (“Services”) described herein. The Services will be performed by qualified personnel in a professional manner consistent with industry standards.

(b) Limitation of Liability. NEITHER PARTY SHALL HAVE LIABILITY TO THE OTHER FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES INCLUDING ANY WORK PRODUCT, EVEN IF P2 SOLUTIONS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL P2 SOLUTIONS OR CUSTOMER BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUNTS PAID BY CUSTOMER HEREUNDER. P2 SOLUTIONS SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY OR OBLIGATION FOR ANY DAMAGES THAT ARISE FROM THE USE OF THE SERVICES AS PART OR IN CO MBINATION WITH ANY DEVICES, PARTS OR SOFTWARE NOT PROVIDED BY P2 SOLUTIONS, THAT IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE DESIGNED PURPOSE OF THE SERVICES. THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS APPLY TO THE EXTENT THAT THE DAMAGES WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BUT FOR SUCH USE OR COMBINATION.

c) Customer shall pay all invoices within 30 days of receipt thereof from P2 Solutions to their reseller.

Your signature below confirms the details of this order and this form may not be altered by anyone. This agreement sets forth the entire understanding of the parties as to the subject matter herein, and may be modified only by a writing executed by both parties. Any software license agreement for software is a separate agreement and the terms and conditions of such license agreement shall have no bearing on this agreement. You understand that these services will be delivered as specified in this document and fees quoted do not include expenses. Travel and related expenses will be billed to the customer at the completion of this engagement.
